Just read these tips — all so excellent, pragmatic, ever-relevant. Great job! I’m returning to Peru (to Lima — one last benefit of having once worked for the Fund and having volunteered to leave in exchange for incentives — this is the final incentive and I have until Feb. 20 to claim it!) in early Feb; may stay where John is currently staying in Miraflores as he whiles away the weeks to his new job in SK (where you’re going as well — sooner than John? He departs for Seoul in late Feb.-early March). We’re going for just 2-3 weeks (Berlitz is being very flexible with me), but I will keep your tips in mind. They’re common sense but even given my reasonably extensive travel experience I tend, e.g. (and it’s a biggie) to carry my passport with me everywhere.

I am resident at Malibou Lake on South Lakeshore. I enjoyed reading your blog in general but specifically regarding your trip to South America (Peru), your spanish language skills, and your afinity for racquetball. I’ve bee a homeowner here at the lake for almost 25 years, and having been born in Colombia I can relate to your experiences in South America.

Anyway, although I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you personally, I am impressed by al your travels and experiences and wish you continued success in all your future travels and plans.
